FROM THE SOUTH - Sprain Brook/Taconic Parkway
Take the Sprain Brook Parkway North. The Sprain becomes the Taconic State Parkway.
Take first exit off Taconic - "Pleasantville-Route 117." Turn left
at the bottom of the exit onto Route 117 West. Continue west 3 miles. Stay in
the left lane onto Rockwood Road. Continue past the intersection of the entrances
to Phelps Memorial Hospital Center and New York Life. At the next stop sign
you will see the James House sign. Turn slight left and drive to the top of
the hill to The James House Mansion.
FROM THE SOUTH - Saw Mill River Parkway
Take Saw Mill River Parkway North to Taconic Parkway. Stay in right lane, exit
immediately toward Route 117. At the bottom of the exit, turn left onto Route
117 West. Continue west 3 miles. Stay in the left lane onto Rockwood Road. Continue
past the intersection of the entrances to Phelps Memorial Hospital Center and
New York Life. At the next stop sign you will see the James House sign. Turn
slight left and drive to the top of the hill to The James House Mansion.
FROM THE SOUTH - Route 87 (New York Thruway)
Follow Route 87 North to Exit 9 (last exit before the Tappan Zee Bridge). At
the bottom of the exit turn left onto Route 119 West. After about ¼ mile,
turn right onto Route 9 North. Follow Route 9 for 3-1/4 miles. Follow signs
to Rockwood Road (first right exit after the overpass). On Rockwood Road, continue
past the intersection of the entrances to Phelps Memorial Hospital Center and
New York Life. At the next stop sign you will see the James House sign. Turn
slight left and drive to the top of the hill to The James House Mansion.
FROM WHITE PLAINS OR CONNECTICUT - Route 287/Cross Westchester Expressway
Take the Cross Westchester Expressway (Route 287) West to Exit 3, Sprain Brook
Parkway North. The Sprain becomes the Taconic State Parkway. Take first exit
off Taconic - "Pleasantville-Route 117." Turn left at the bottom of
the exit onto Route 117 West. Continue west 3 miles. Stay in the left lane onto
Rockwood Road. Continue past the intersection of the entrances to Phelps Memorial
Hospital Center and New York Life. At the next stop sign you will see the James
House sign. Turn slight left and drive to the top of the hill to The James House
Mansion.
FROM THE NORTH - Taconic Parkway/Route 100/Route 9A
Take Taconic Parkway South to Millwood exit. Stay in left lane. At the stop
light turn left onto Route 100 South. Continue on Route 100 South. Merge onto
Route 9A South. Stay in left lane and exit at Route 117 West to Sleepy Hollow.
At the top of the ramp turn right onto Route 117 West. Continue west for 3 miles.
Stay in the left lane onto Rockwood Road. Continue past the intersection of
the entrances to Phelps Memorial Hospital Center and New York Life. At the next
stop sign you will see the James House sign. Turn slight left and drive to the
top of the hill to The James House Mansion.
FROM THE NORTH - Route 9
Take Route 9 South through Briarcliff and Ossining. Turn left to Rockwood Road
before the overpass. On Rockwood Road, continue past the intersection of the
entrances to Phelps Memorial Hospital Center and New York Life. At the next
stop sign you will see the James House sign. Turn slight left and drive to the
top of the hill to The James House Mansion.
FROM NEW JERSEY, ROCKLAND & OTHER POINTS WEST
Cross the Tappan Zee Bridge. Stay right after the toll booths. Take exit 9
to Route 9. Turn right onto Route 9 North. Follow Route 9 for 3-1/4 miles. Follow
signs to Rockwood Road (first right exit after the overpass). On Rockwood Road,
continue past the intersection of the entrances to Phelps Memorial Hospital
Center and New York Life. At the next stop sign you will see the James House
sign. Turn slight left and drive to the top of the hill to The James House Mansion.
